At Jaap Karma, our sacred commitment to spiritual privacy means we reject intrusive web surveillance. This Cookie & Local Storage Policy explains how our mobile applications, Progressive Web App (PWA), and web portals utilize storage technologies.
Jaap Karma uses ZERO tracking cookies, ZERO advertising cookies, and ZERO third-party analytics pixels. We do not track your browsing activity across websites, and we do not profile your behavior.
2. Native Mobile Applications (Android & iOS)
The native Android and iOS applications of Jaap Karma DO NOT USE HTTP COOKIES of any kind.
All mobile data persistence (bead count, completed malas, custom mantras, audio settings, haptic settings, and theme choices) is handled entirely through native, secure, sandboxed device storage mechanisms:
- Encrypted-Ready SQLite Database: Managed locally via the high-performance Drift persistence engine.
- Operating System Preferences: Managed via native Android SharedPreferences and iOS UserDefaults.
3. Web Application, PWA & Local Storage Technologies
When you access Jaap Karma via a web browser or install it as a Progressive Web App (PWA), we do not set traditional HTTP tracking cookies. Instead, the application utilizes standard HTML5 Local Storage (window.localStorage) and IndexedDB strictly for functional, offline-first operation:

Under the European Union ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC as amended) and UK PECR guidelines, storage keys that are strictly necessary to deliver a service explicitly requested by the user do not require cookie consent banners. Because our storage is 100% strictly necessary and contains zero tracking mechanisms, no annoying cookie banners are required.
4. Third-Party Cookies, Pixels & Social Trackers
We enforce a strict zero-third-party policy across all Jaap Karma digital web properties:
- No Google AdSense / DoubleClick cookies
- No Meta (Facebook) Pixel / Conversions API
- No TikTok Pixel / ByteDance trackers
- No Google Analytics or Hotjar session recording
- No cross-site tracking or commercial data sharing
5. How You Can Manage or Clear Browser Storage
Because all web storage is located directly on your computer or phone, you retain complete control over your data. You can delete local storage at any time via your browser settings:
- Google Chrome & Brave: Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear Browsing Data → Check "Cookies and other site data" → Click Clear Data.
- Apple Safari (iOS / macOS): Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data → Search for
jaapkarma.app→ Tap Delete. - Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Click Clear Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data → Choose what to clear → Cookies and other site data → Clear now.
Note: Clearing site storage will reset your selected theme to default and erase locally saved bead counts in that browser.
